Martha Cernosek, 92, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011. She was born to Jim and Sophie Hluchanek Petrash in Holman, Texas, on Dec. 28, 1918.

She was a lifelong resident of San Antonio and was retired from SanTone Industries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sidney, in 1978; a sister, Dorothy Cernosek; and a brother, Ivan Petrash.

She is survived by her children, JoAnn Koenig and Roy, Jimmie Cernosek, and Gary Cernosek; her five grandchildren, Rodney Koenig and Lisa, Ragan Koenig, Greg Cernosek and Debbie, Roxanne Barry and Bart, and Brandon Cernosek and Jennifer; eight great-grandchildren, Remington, Megan, Reece, and Morgan Koenig, Tyler and Sydney Barry, and Connor and Max Cernosek; her nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends.

The family received friends on Friday, May 20, from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
