ELMENDORF -- A stretch of F.M. 1303 between Loop 1604 and the Wilson County line remains closed as officials investigate a crash today at approximately 11:45 a.m. that claimed the life of a motorcyclist from the Floresville area. Names of the drivers involved have not been released.

Deputy Steve Wheeler of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said at the scene that the motorcyclist was riding his 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on F.M. 1303 when a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Impala sedan crossed the centerline. The two collided nearly head on.

Cpl. Javier Reyes of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike. He then collided with the Chevrolet’s windshield. He died at the scene from internal injuries.

The Wilson County News will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Danny was a good person. It is really a shame that he served our country to protect us against harms way. And someone else took his life by not paying attention to what he was doing. Danny my you rest in peace. We will all miss you.

My condolences to the family. This is an example of why DPS does not call these incidents "accidents", they are called crashes. Accidents are preventable.
