Honor society inducts students
La Vernia Junior High School has inducted 68 seventh- and eighth-grade students into its National Junior Honor Society. The students were inducted during a ceremony May 24 in the district auditorium.
There are five cardinal principles that form the framework of the Junior Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Studaents are nominated, then go through a selection process. The teachers who served on the selection committee were Mandie West, Robert Klein, Victoria Kalkwarf, Lisa Miksch, and Brandi Hanselka.
National Junior Honor Society sponsors are Clara Duelm and Kathy Trammell.
