1945-2011

Victor A. Herrera, 66, of Karnes City, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Kenedy. He was born to Guadalupe Arriano and Victoriano Herrera Sr. on Jan. 13, 1945, in Robstown. He married Rosita Esparza on Aug. 1, 1964, in Karnes City. Victor was an oil field driller and a mechanic. He was a member of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City and resided most of his life in Karnes City.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Victor E. Herrera III.

He is survived by his wife, Rosita E. Herrera of Karnes City; his daughters, Michelle Lane and husband Linnell of San Antonio and Mary Jane Oballe and husband Daniel of Kenedy; his son, Mark Anthony Herrera of Karnes City; and five grandsons and two granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Annie Esparza; his nephew, Roland Esparza; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation was held Monday, May 30, at 3 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City.

A Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City with Father Stanislaw Marciniak officiating.

Interment followed in the Karnes City Cemetery in Karnes City.
