Action set to resume at I-37 Raceway
PLEASANTON -- I-37 Raceway at Newsome Motor Park roars to life again this Saturday, June 4, following a two-race layoff, one in observance of Memorial Day.
Limited Late Model driver Trey Votion is riding a three-win streak, while IMCA Southern Sports Mod driver Moe VanKirk finally got his first win of the season after breaking Johnny Torres’ string of wins.
Votion and VanKirk want more, Torres wants back on top of the heap, and the battles in all six classes at I-37 are beginning to heat up, as the season approaches the halfway point. Championship points become both harder to get and more important.
Within easy driving distance, I-37 can be a fun alternative for a Saturday night of entertainment. The gates open at 5 p.m., and racing starts at 7 p.m. Most race nights this season have ended before 11 p.m. The weather has been good, and even on warm nights, there is almost always a breeze blowing from behind the grandstand to cool folks off.
