GRADUATION: La Vernia HS valedictorian
La Vernia Valedictorian Seth Scott was born May 5, 1993, in Adak, Alaska, a small Air Force base in the Aleutian Islands.
His father had become an officer in the Army Veterinarian Corps and Adak was one of his first posts. From there, his family moved down to Texas for several months and then on to Maryland.
Seth spent most of his childhood in Maryland and was involved with youth football, piano, choir, church youth group, NASA, FIRST robotics competition, and Boy Scouts. He received his Eagle Scout badge in the spring of 2008. His freshman year of high school was spent at Linganore High.
However, in the summer, his father was moved once more, this time to Fort Sam Houston. Thus, the family took up residence in La Vernia and Seth attended La Vernia High School for the remainder of his high school career.
Seth became involved with many of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions, including mathematics, social studies, science, and computer science. He also joined Model United Nations his junior year and was voted as Secretary of Internal Affairs his senior year.
After graduation, Seth plans to move to Montana, the home state of both his parents, and begin college in the fall at Montana State University, likely double majoring in paleontology and biomechanics.
