Palo Alto College offers several summer programs for children of all ages.

The award-winning “Living It Up: Biology for Kids” program will be held in the Children’s Library in the Ozuna Library. It is free to children entering third and fourth grades in the fall. It concentrates on science, technology, engineering, and math.

Children can select between two sessions: June 13-30 or July 11-28. The sessions meet Monday through Thursday and children choose a 90-minute morning or afternoon session. Each group is limited to 25 students each.

To register, visit the library website at www.alamo.edu/pac or pick up a form at the Ozuna Library, located at Loop 410 South and S.H. 16. For more information, call 210-486-3561.

Another children’s program, the Children’s Leadership Academy, is designed for children entering first through eighth grades. It offers a curriculum that includes leadership, character development, English, math, science, history, Spanish, and arts and crafts.

The sessions offered are June 13-30, July 11-28, and August 1-12. All sessions are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is $150 per child and $75 for each additional sibling.

Palo Alto’s Aquatic Center, which is a joint venture with the city of San Antonio, has a wide variety of offerings for those learning to swim and those who want to swim competitively. Swim lessons are available for children from ages 2-15, and cost $45. Competitive swimming teams for ages 12 and up cost $50-80 per month.
