John ‘Buddy’ T. Hemby

John “Buddy” T. Hemby of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the age of 83. He was born Oct. 22, 1927.

He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Hemby; his daughters, Kathy Crisp-Kosub and husband Edmund and Judy Ellen Hemby; his son, John Wayne Hemby; his grandchildren, Matthew Crisp III and wife Colette, Joshua T. Crisp, Kelly J. Church and husband Richard, Steven Echols, and Shelley Echols; his great-grandchildren, Hannah Church, Justin Church, Molly Crisp, Bailey Crisp, and Riley Crisp; his sisters, Margaret Nida, Jean Cannon, and Lilly Carico; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held Tuesday, May 31, from 5-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Dennis Jarzombek officiating.

Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
