1925-2011

Alice G. Guzman, 85, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Floresville, Texas. She was born in Saspamco on August 9, 1925, to Eliseo Gonzalez and Narcisa Barrera. She was a lifelong resident of Wilson County. She was of the Catholic faith.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Guzman Sr.; her parents; and two brothers, A.B. Gonzalez and Eliseo Gonzalez.

She is survived by her daughters, Rachael Robles and husband Richard of Floresville and Debbie Ortiz of San Antonio; her son, Russell Guzman and wife Dilsia of Fort Knox, Ky.; her brother, Ramiro Gonzales of San Antonio; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 2:30 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville and will continue at 5:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Phillip Henning as celebrant.

Interment will follow on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
