ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. The Texas Lutheran University(TLU)/Mid-Texas Symphony Community Music Academy (CMA) is still accepting registration for the new Strings Summer Camp.

The new Strings Summer Camp is a musical week with something for everyone in the first through 12th grade who is an experienced violin, viola, or cello student or be-ginner with no previous experience. Daily offerings will include private instruction, playing as a group, rock and improvisation training, basic music history and vocabulary le-sons, rhythmic and note reading instruction, performances for students by faculty, crafts, games, and a final student performance for the parents on July 1. Registration ends June 15.

The Strings Camp takes place June 27 through July 1 from 1-5 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Se-guin. Tuition is $100 for the first family member and $75 for additional siblings. Strings private lessons and ensembles for summer and fall 2011 are also open for registration. The fall deadline is Aug. 15.
