Lola Emma Preiss, 92, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on Oct. 9, 1918, the oldest of five children, to Willie and Alma Voigt Froboese.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland A. Preiss Sr.; two sons, Roland E. Preiss Jr. and Larry Preiss; one grandchild, Curtis Bindseil Jr.; her son-in-law, Curtis Bindseil Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Jo Helen Preiss; her parents; one sister; and one brother.

Lola is survived by one son, Melvin Preiss and wife Marie of Seguin; two daughters, Sharon Bindseil of Floresville and Karen Reed and husband Butch Pape of Blanco; seven grandchildren, William Bindseil and wife Pattie of La Vernia, Herbert Bindseil and Curtis Wayne Bindseil of Floresville, Karen Cavallin and husband Gordon of San Antonio, Stacy Rapier and husband Michael of Schertz, Jane Franks and husband Keith of Georgetown, and Amber Reed and husband Tim Baylor of San Antonio; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Alex, and Andy Bindseil of La Vernia, and Kaitlyn, Courtney, Erik, and Cayden Cavallin of San Antonio; two brothers, Leroy Froboese and wife Nellenne of Marion and Roman Froboese of Garden Ridge; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Jerry and Arlene Stapleton and Sonny King, all of Blanco.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, from 5-7 p.m. in the Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco.

A funeral service for Lola will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bobby Leggett officiating.

Interment will follow in the Twin Sisters Cemetery in Blanco County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 8415 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78229; the American Cancer Association, 8115 Datapoint Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229; or the North County Blanco EMS, P.O. Box 557, Johnson City, TX 78636.
