Warren A. Jero passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011, in Winterport, Maine, at the age of 94. He was born in Wisconsin on June 1, 1916.

Warren spent time in the U.S. Army and ended up in San Bernardino, Calif., where he worked for the U.S. Air Force until his retirement in the mid-1980s. At that time, he and his wife moved to Stockdale, Texas.

He loved music and joined with his friends playing for the patients in the nursing home in Stockdale. He excelled on the guitar and violin.

Warren loved Wilson County and its people, and he will be sorely missed by everyone who was privileged to know him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Oralia “Babe” Jero; and his oldest son, David.

Warren is survived by his son, Alan Jero and wife Jeanne; his daughters, Machele Gromek and husband Rick and Kristy Holloman and husband Jon; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Warren will be interred beside his wife in a graveside service on Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stockdale.
