Chris Elwood Coleman, 53, of Nixon, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, in his home in San Antonio. He was born in Nixon on May 30, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Della and Evelyn Dolores (Moore) Coleman; and his brother, Samuel Eugene Coleman.

Chris is survived by three aunts, Dorothy Jean Moore, LaVerne Fatheree, and Eloise McKinney and husband Roscoe, all of Nixon; numerous cousins; and many friends.

A memorial graveside service was held Sunday, June 12, at 11 a.m. in the Harris Chapel/Greater Rising Star Cemetery near Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, 606 E. Second Ave., Nixon, TX 78140 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
