Offer condolences

Chester George Kopecki Sr., a lifelong resident of Kosciusko, Texas, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 3, 2011, at 5:25 p.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville at the age of 87. He was born June 3, 1924, in Kosciusko to Joseph and Sofia Lyssy Kopecki.

Chester worked as a farmer his entire life, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Chester married Alice Rose Kolodziej on Jan. 10, 1949.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his seven brothers; and his three sisters. Chester is survived by his loving wife of more than 62 years, Alice Rose Kolodziej Kopecki; his beautiful children, Chester Kopecki Jr. and wife Patricia of McCoy, Dale Kopecki of Kosciusko, John Kopecki and wife Wendy of Kosciusko, and Mary Fjetland and husband Randy of Buda; his ten grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Agnes Kolodziej of San Antonio and Elizabeth Kopecki of Panna Maria; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Monday, June 6, at 5 p.m. and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Kosciusko.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the church with Father Andrzej Waszczenko officiating.

Interment followed in the St. Ann Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Serving as pallbearers were German Kopecki, Otto Kopecki, Aaron Kopecki, Ben Kotara, Wilbert Felux, and Ernest Kolodziej.
