Chili's Restaurants in the San Antonio area will raise money Wednesday June 22, 2011 for the family of Bexar County Sheriff's Sgt. Kenneth Vann, who was shot to death last month.

Some 20 restaurants in Bexar County, Seguin, New Braunfels and Kerrville will donate 10 percent of profits from the day's sales to Vann's memorial account at Generations Federal Credit Union.

Chili’s Restaurant is requesting that patrons show up with a flyer advertizing the event. A printable flyer can be obtained from www.bexar.org.

Chili’s Restaurant’s are hoping the effort will produce at least $15,000 for the memorial fund. A second account has been set up by the 100 Club of San Antonio for the slain sergeant's son, Kenneth Vann Jr., 15.

Vann, a 24-year veteran, also had a 19-year-old son and a daughter, 25. He is also survived by his wife, Sheriff's Sgt. Yvonne Vann.
