Offer condolences


Albert Mills, 89, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. He was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Stockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Mae Grassel Mills; his brothers, Charles Mills and Wayne Mills; and his sisters, Nola King and Lena Mae Rahn.

Albert is survived by his children, Kenneth Mills and Bobbie of La Vernia, Glenn Mills and Jenean of La Vernia, and Debra Fisher and Ronnie of Killeen; his grandchildren, Bryan Mills of La Vernia, Gail Burke of Killeen, Chris Fisher of Killeen, and Nolan Mills, Logan Mills, Morgan Mills, and Kolban Mills, all of La Vernia; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

A visitation was held Sunday, June 19, from 6-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Robert Palan officiating.

Interment followed in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in La Vernia.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4101 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, TX 78411.
