Offer condolences


Edmund P. Sekula, 64, of the Three Oaks community in Wilson County, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. He was born to Edmund H. and Anna Gawlik Sekula on Dec. 5, 1946, in San Antonio.

He was a radio technician for the city of San Antonio for the past 36 years. He was also a farmer and rancher and served in the U.S. Army.

Edmund graduated from Poth High School, earned an associate degree from San Antonio College, and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mark Sekula.

Edmund is survived by his daughter, Emily Wood and husband Gregory of Houston; his brothers, Elvan Sekula and wife Carolyn of Tower Lake and Alan A. Sekula and wife Deborah of Falls City; his sister, Debra Frazier and husband Richard of Castroville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Friday, June 17, at 5 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A rosary was recited on Friday at 7 p.m. in the church.

A Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. John Collet officiating.

Interment followed in the Falls City Cemetery in Falls City.

Serving as pallbearers were Alan Sekula, Alan Sekula Jr., Michael Sekula, Elvan Sekula, Christopher Sekula, and Juan Martinez.

Memorials may be made to the Edmund P. Sekula Scholarship Fund at the Falls City National Bank, P.O. Box 339, Falls City, TX 78113.
