Theresa Ann Childress, 84, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011. She was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Electra.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iris and Grace Tobin Scarborough; and her sister, Ivy Hasty.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Correy Childress Sr.; her son, Correy Childress Jr. and wife Annie; her daughters, Brenda Rains and husband Ronnie and Lori Chesser and husband Matt; her grandchildren, Chance Childress and Gena, Abby Nicole Rains, Kayla Renee Rains, and Cheyenne Chesser; her great-grandchild, Travis Nathaniel Garcia; and her nephews, John Hasty and Fred Hasty.

A visitation was held Thursday, June 23, from 5-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tom Jones officiating.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery in Wilson County.

Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
