Carmin M. Hernandez passed away on Tuesday, June 21, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 20 days. She was born to Blas and Josefina Montoya in Floresville on July 31, 1947, and was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo; her parents; and her sister, Lela Ximinez.

Carmin is survived by her daughters, Teresa Vidal and husband Ramiro of Sutherland Springs, Josie Reyes of Poteet, Isabel Tavera of Floresville, and Susie Griego of San Antonio; her sons, Fidencio Hernandez of Floresville, Geronimo Hernandez Jr. and wife Ramona and Francisco Hernandez and wife Michele, all of San Antonio; her brother, Blas Montoya of San Antonio; her sister, Maria Orosco of Floresville; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing was held on Thursday, July 23, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A Mass was celebrated on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Phil Henning as celebrant.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Pallbearers were Xavier Hernandez, Randy Vidal, Anthony Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, Celestino Marroquin III, and Tommy Griego.
