The sixth annual Mesquite Trail Drivers Ranch Rodeo is set for Friday and Saturday, July 8-9, at 7 p.m. in the Mesquite Arena Hall located at 11663 Ford Road -- the corner of Mount Olive and Ford roads -- in Adkins.

Triple R Rodeo presents the event, including steer doctoring, shovel races, calf branding, steer loading, cowboy rescue races, double mugging, wild cow milking, and wild steer saddling.

Friday is the qualifying round, with the finals set for Saturday.

The rodeo is a San Antonio Ranch Rodeo qualifier and the South Texas Ranch Rodeo Association qualifier.

Price is $10 per day, per person. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.

Friday evening will conclude with a DJ/karaoke night, from 9 p.m. until midnight.

“The Straight Shot Band” will perform Saturday night from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.
