Jeff and Audra Barba of Adkins, Texas, and Paul Powers of Ft. Worth are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Darlene Powers, to Jacob Lynn Miller, the son of Victor and Sheri Yates of San Antonio and Ronald and Dolores Miller of China Grove.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rudy and Darlene Manka of Adkins and Wallace and Bernice Sendemer of San Antonio.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Bessie Terrell of Port Arthur and the late Henry Terrell and Horace “Buddy” and Leita Miller of China Grove.

Amber, a 2006 graduate of East Central High School and a 2010 graduate of Tarleton State University, is currently employed at Frost National Bank.

Jacob, a 2004 graduate of East Central High School, is currently employed with City Public Service as a Calaveras Power Plant welder.

Amber and Jacob will be united in holy matrimony in July in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 539 in St. Hedwig.

The couple plan to honeymoon in Hawaii and reside near Adkins.
