Gene Andrew Grubb, 57, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. He was born on Nov. 24, 1953, in San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Reid; and a son, Allen Andrew Grubb.

Gene is survived by his father, Vincent John Grubb and Deborah; his children, Valarie Grubb and John Grubb; his stepdaughter, Cassie Leath; his sister, Jerrilyn West and husband Robert; his sisters, Beverly Simmons and Heather Grubb; his niece, Hannah Simmons; and his nephew, David Simmons.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, July 5, from 4-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Sutherland Springs Cemetery in Sutherland Springs.
