Harlan “Zach” Zacharias, 67, of Adkins, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011. He was born Nov. 24, 1943, in San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elo and Vlasta Madlyn (Hirsch) Zacharias; and brother Larry Gene Zacharias.

Zach is survived by his wife, Betty (Fecci) Zacharias; his stepsons, Rodney Zacek and Danny Zacek; his daughters, Melanie Williams and husband Kenneth and Kimberly Zacharias; his sister, Shirleen Zacharias; and his grandchildren, Timothy Zacek, Justin Zacek, Krystal Zacek, Daphnne Williams, Kaleb Williams, Delanie Williams, Shandi Aponte, and Garren Zacharias.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, July 5, from 5-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Vernia with Dr. Robert Palan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in La Vernia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Noel Montgomery, Cody Engelke, Bruce Engelke, Bob Hons, Lloyd Ryndall, Javier Ramirez, and Melvin Shields.

Donations may be made to the Kicaster Fire Department, PO Box 894, Adkins, TX or Immanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 168, La Vernia, TX 78121.
