CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Offer condolences

Dale Rolland, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at 11:40 p.m. in the Downtown Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 28 days. Dale was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Kansas City, Kan., to Myron Lambert and Ruth Rice Rolland.

Dale attended schools in California and Missouri as a child, and later joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Air Force Security Service. Dale retired from the Air Force as a chief master sergeant on July 31, 1975. He married Charlotte LaBlanc March 16, 1951, at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Dale was preceded in death by his son, Pat Rolland; and his brother, Sean Crowley.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Rolland of Floresville; his children, Terry Rolland of Oakland, Calif., Mike Rolland and wife Debbi of Floresville, and Frances McClintock of Floresville; his sister, Alice Richardson of Lancaster, Calif.; his grandchildren, Bryan Rolland, Erik Rolland, Aaron Rolland, David Rolland, Siobahn McClintock, Veronica Rolland, and Dylan Rolland; and his great-grandchild, Layla Rolland.

A visitation was held on Monday, July 11, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment with full military honors followed in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Legion Post 38, 1412 Fourth St., Floresville, TX 78114.
