ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Krueger benefit team roping, cookoff July 23

PLEASANTON -- A team roping event will be held in conjunction with a barbecue cook-off, silent auction, and youth baking contest for the John Krueger Benefit Fund-raiser. The event is set for Saturday, July 23, at the Atascosa County Show Barn in Pleasanton. Grounds will open to the public at 9 a.m. Books open at 6:30 p.m., with roping to begin at 7 p.m.

The ropers in the No. 10 (5 Cap) and No. 13 (no Cap) may enter one draw three for $100. Legend belt buckles will be awarded to the champion header and heeler in the No. 10 and 13 events.

Ropers may enter in the “open” event, with three runs for $50. The “open” event will begin the competition, followed by the No. 10 and No. 13, which will run together.
