Krueger benefit team roping, cookoff July 23

PLEASANTON -- A team roping event will be held in conjunction with a barbecue cook-off, silent auction, and youth baking contest for the John Krueger Benefit Fund-raiser. The event is set for Saturday, July 23, at the Atascosa County Show Barn in Pleasanton. Grounds will open to the public at 9 a.m. Books open at 6:30 p.m., with roping to begin at 7 p.m.

The ropers in the No. 10 (5 Cap) and No. 13 (no Cap) may enter one draw three for $100. Legend belt buckles will be awarded to the champion header and heeler in the No. 10 and 13 events.

Ropers may enter in the “open” event, with three runs for $50. The “open” event will begin the competition, followed by the No. 10 and No. 13, which will run together.
