AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on wa-termelon crankbaits and spinnerbaits near the dam. Striped bass are fair on sil-ver and gold spoons near the dam. Redfish are good on perch and shad near the jetty. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait near the hot water discharge.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 77--80 degrees; 19.07' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters, Texas rigged pumpkinseed worms, and watermelon flukes along secondary points in 10--18 feet. Striped bass are fair on chartreuse Rat--L--Traps, Zara Spooks, and shad col-ored crankbaits near the dam early and late. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on live bait and shrimp. Yel-low and blue catfish are good on juglines and trot-lines baited with goldfish and perch.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are fair on live bait. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs near the crappie wall. Red-fish are good on live bait near the dam. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and shad near the railroad trestle. Blue catfish are fair on live bait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Wa-ter clear; 76--79 degrees; 4.80' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinner-baits, soft plastic worms, and crankbaits along banks in 6--14 feet early. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Smallmouth bass are good on root beer soft plastics and watermelon topwaters along ledges in 5--15 feet. Crappie are fair to good on minnows over brush piles in 8--12 feet. Channel cat-fish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and trotlines baited with live bait.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 85--90 degrees; 8.45' low. Black bass are good on black/blue crank-baits, spinnerbaits, and topwaters. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on cut bait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are good on juglines baited with live bait.

COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 2.78' low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits in 4--12 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

FALCON Water stained; 88--91 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon and June bug jigs in 8--12 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are excellent on minnows and jigs. Channel and blue cat-fish are good on cut bait and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexi-co fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water clear; 84--87 degrees; 1.77' low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits upriver around flooded timber. White bass are fair on Rat--L--Traps along shallow roadbeds early and late. Crappie are good on Stan-ley Wedge--Tail minnow jigs in 6--12 feet. Blue cat-fish are good on juglines baited with fresh shad. Yel-low catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch.

LBJ Water fairly clear; 80--83 degrees; 0.11' low. Black bass are fair on char-treuse jigs, watermelon topwaters, and green pumpkin Whacky Sticks in 6--18 feet early. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 12 feet. Channel catfish are fair on minnows and shrimp. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch.

TRAVIS Water stained; 77--81 degrees; 34.47' low. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastic worms, white grubs, and chartreuse topwaters in 8--18 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and silver striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are good on topwaters around rocks and grass. Trout are fair to good on the King Ranch shoreline on croak-ers, topwaters and plum plastics.

BOLIVAR Trout are good on the south shoreline on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass. Waders have caught trout on plastics in the pass on the outgoing tide.

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Redfish are good in the potholes on shrimp. Trout are fair to good in the deeper holes on croakers and piggy perch.

FREEPORT Trout are good at San Luis Pass on shrimp and MirrOlures. Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay. Trout, Spanish mackerel and sand trout are good at the jetties on soft plastics and shrimp fished on the bottom.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good for drifters working deep shell on limetreuse and plum plastics. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp. Trout are good on the Ship Channel on croak-ers and plastics.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Drifters have caught their best fish on live bait over reefs. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Offshore is good for tarpon, kingfish, red snapper and ling.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

MATAGORDA Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are fair on topwaters and live shrimp in Oyster Lake and Crab Lake.

PORT ARANSAS Trout, redfish and sheeps-head are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp and croak-ers. Trout are fair to good in the surf on topwaters, piggies and croakers.

PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are fair to good on the flats on live shrimp. Redfish are good for sight--casters in knee--deep water on flies and small Super Spooks and SkitterWalks.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are good on top-waters around sand and grass. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes and on live bait around East Cut. Offshore is good for red snapper and kingfish. Tarpon have been showing on the beachfront.

PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are fair on topwaters and live bait over sand, grass and shell in San Antonio Bay. Trout are fair to good in the surf and at the jetty on croakers and Catch 5s.

ROCKPORT Trout are fair in the guts and channels on free--lined shrimp. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp. Redfish are good on mullet on the Estes Flats and around Mud Island.

NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad on soft plastics. Redfish are good in the cuts and drains leading to the marsh on shrimp and Gulps.

SOUTH SABINE Trout are fair to good while drifting the reefs on live shrimp and topwaters. Drifter have been working slicks and pods of shad. Trout are good at the jetty on live bait and topwaters.

SOUTH PADRE Red-fish and trout are good in the shallows of South Bay and Mexiquita Flats on shrimp and plastics under rattling corks. Tarpon are showing at the pass.

TEXAS CITY Trout are fair to good on the reefs on live shrimp and croak-ers. Solid trout have come from the edge of the Ship Channel on croakers and shrimp.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working wells and shell pads on shrimp, croakers, Bass As-sassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Waders have taken better trout on the shell along the east shore-line. Redfish are good on live bait around the reefs and at the spillway.
