This family of Black-bellied whistling ducks hides in the shade of some trees behind buildings on Third Street in Floresville after being blown from their nest in a tree outside the Wilson County Courthouse. According to www.wildtexas.com, these ducks build nests in tree cavities and have a habitat spanning the lower Gulf Coast region, Arizona, California, Mexico, and Central and South America.
