Tony Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the age of 76. He was born Sept. 27, 1934, to Antonio and Anita Rodriguez in Karnes City.

Tony graduated from Southwest Texas State University. He retired from Civil Service and served his country in the U.S. Air Force, including 34 years with the Air Force Reserve. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rachel; two sons; one daughter; five grandchildren; a dear sister-in-law he raised from the age of 5; and several extended family members.

A visitation was held Wednesday, July 13, at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass took place Thursday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Tony was laid to rest in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Warrior and Family Support Center, 2010 Stanley Road, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234.
