CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Offer condolences

Joseph “Joe” H. Story, a resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 6:02 a.m. in the Downtown Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 5 days. Joe was born March 7, 1932, in Steele, Mo., the son of John and Verna White Story.

After graduation from Steele High School in 1958, Joe worked for many years as an entrepreneur in transportation.

Joe married Ilene Gregg on May 10, 1959, in Amarillo. Ilene, the love of Joe’s life, preceded him in death on April 6, 2003.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Joe was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Poth.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of more than 43 years, Ilene Gregg Story; and his son, David Story.

He is survived by his children, Robert Story of Washougal, Wash., Kevin Story of Madisonville, and Christina Bensmiller of Whitsett; his grandchildren, David Story and Jessica Story of Washington, and Randel Griffin and Taylor Griffin of Floresville; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held Friday, July 15, at 10 a.m. in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Cemetery in Poth, with Pastor Norma Ramirez officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 291048, San Antonio, TX 78229-1648.
