Robert Joseph Miller, 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on Nov. 7, 1940, to Howard and Alvina Leiser Miller.

Bob touched the lives of so many people with his love for them. He was known for his humor and for the comfort and compassion he offered to those during their times of pain and trials. He was Grandpa to all the kids and Dad to the fatherless ones, his family said. His love for Jehovah was unsurpassed and this gave him the courage to serve his God, Jehovah. He loved a good ball game and fishing but was happiest when he was in the ministry. His dearest friends were at the Kingdom Hall and he looked forward to the day when, under the rule of Christ Jesus and his heavenly co-rulers, peace and happiness will prevail in all of earth. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses July 27, 1960.

Bob married Cynthia Yankovich on June 6, 1992. He was a regular pioneer for seven years and an elder in the Christian congregation since 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Gloria.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Floresville; his children, Cindy Stewart and husband Kenny of Atchison, Kan., Tess Wagner and husband Brian of Platte City, Mo., Michelle Whinery and husband William of New Berlin, and Trey Yankovich and wife Becky of Bartlesville, Okla.; his grandchildren, Christi Pennington, Kenny Lee Stewart, Deric Wagner, Brandi Yankovich, and Shane and Jared Whinery; his great-grandson, Cayden Pennington; and his brothers, Michael Miller and wife Cheri of Englewood, Colo., and Nelson Miller and wife Pat of Farmington, Mo.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 16, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in San Antonio.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
