Yolanda M. Garcia, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2011. She was born July 26, 1940, in Saspamco, Texas.

She is now home in heaven with her parents, Benancio S. and Sarita R. Moreno, who preceded her in death.

Yolanda was a loving person that liked spending quality time with everyone. She enjoyed cooking, going to church, barbecues, music, and playing bingo. She was always ready to help with anything. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Manuel O. Garcia Sr.; her sisters, Oralia Lucio and husband Mathias, Olga Garcia and husband Victor, Celia Pesina and husband Walter, Sarah Flores and husband Rick, and Carmen Aranda and husband Danny; her brothers, Victor Moreno and wife Carrie, Robert Moreno and wife Guillermina, and Richard Moreno and wife Esmeralda; her daughters, Rose Garcia and husband Luis, Juanita Garza and husband Joe, and Irma Perez and husband Rick; her sons, Manuel Garcia Jr. and wife Brenda and Frank Garcia and wife Erica; 11 blessed grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff of Vitas Care and to all her doctors and pastors who assisted in her care.

A visitation was held on Friday, July 22, at 4 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Elmendorf.
