FLORESVILLE -- A fiery crash at the intersection of C.R. 134 and C.R. 132 at approximately 8 a.m. today has left the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck dead at the scene.

Members of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol, Floresville Volunteer Fire Department, and Wilson County Sheriff’s Office were among those attending the scene.

DPS Sgt. Tony Ross said information was sketchy, but it appeared the truck was traveling down C.R. 132 to C.R. 134 around 8:30 a.m. when the truck slammed into a fencepost and the vehicle subsequently caught fire.

Wilson County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Sara Canady pronounced the driver dead at approximately 9:20 a.m.

The driver’s remains will be transported to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office to determine cause of death.
