Offer condolences


Alfredo Gallegos, 79, of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, in Jourdanton. He was born Feb. 6, 1932.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Manuela Ponce Gallegos; his sons, Eugene and Johnny Gallegos Sr.; his daughters, Mary Gallegos and Lilly Tijerina; and his brother, Juan Manuel Gallegos.

Alfredo is survived by his sons, Joe Fred Gallegos of Lytle and David Gallegos of Floresville; his brothers and sisters, Tom Gallegos and wife Mary of California, Oscar Gallegos of Corpus Christi, Joe Gallegos of California, Homer Gallegos of Oklahoma, Luis Gallegos and wife Veronica of Oklahoma, Antonia Herrera and husband Pilar of Pleasanton, Manuela Bleakney and husband John of Oklahoma, Mauricia Garcia of Boerne, Alice Van Bebber and husband of California, Emily Hernandez and husband Sal of California, Herlinda Ahumada and husband Jose of Oklahoma, Lucinda Garcia and husband Augustine of San Antonio, and Christina Lanman and husband Steven of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton. Services will conclude at the church.
