Carol Ann McCoy Andrisek, a resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the age of 78 years and 10 months. She was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Wichita Falls, the daughter of Vernon O. and Virginia Bell McCoy.

Carol spent her early years in Floresville, where her father was a county agent, and graduated from Cotulla High School, where she played snare drum for the Cotulla Cowboys and played basketball.

She married Adolph “Red” H. Andrisek on Nov. 23, 1950, in Cotulla. Carol began working as a sales clerk with Joskes, then worked in accounts receivables, for a career that spanned almost 30 years. She later owned a dog-grooming business in Devine. Carol enjoyed working in the yard and planting flowers. She especially loved her dogs, Sassy, Mickey, and Tazzy.

Carol’s great-grandchildren, Zac and K.D., were her pride and joy; but she did love Kimi first. Saying goodbye was, “See you later alligator,” followed by, “After while, crocodile, I love you more.” Carol loved crossword puzzles, country music, and the Western Movie Channel. She had to have her TV!

She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse, Adolph “Red” Andrisek.

Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon “Rusty” and Candy Andrisek of Floresville; her granddaughter and spouse, Kim and Terry McIlvain of Floresville; her great-grandchildren, Zac and K.D. McIlvain of Floresville; her sister, Marijo Arche of Devine; nieces and spouses Leighann and Richard Malone of Devine and Linda and John Rihn of Castroville; her nephew and spouse, Len and Ginger Arche of Devine; numerous nieces and nephews in Texas and California; and many friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 26, at 5 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with Father Andrzej Waszczenko officiating.

Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.

Serving as pallbearers were Terry McIlvain, Len Arche, Scott Taylor, Andy Rihn, Josh Rihn, and Jerrod Taylor. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Richard Malone and John Rihn.
