Two of the Texas Most Wanted fugitives now have an extra $5,000 in cash added to their reward for the month of August.

Information leading to the arrest of Gwen Komahcheet of Spring will bring tipsters $12,500, while information leading to the arrest of Mark Bauman of Austin will bring an $8,000 cash reward. Your Texas Crime Stoppers tip is guaranteed to be anonymous.

Komahcheet, 60, is wanted in Texas for aggravated rape with a deadly weapon and in Comanche County, OK, for failure to register as a sex offender. His criminal history in Texas, Oklahoma and California includes rape with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, vehicle theft, drunk driving, disturbing the peace and vandalism. Komahcheet was arrested and convicted in Dallas in 1979 for sexual assault with a deadly weapon. He received a 75-year sentence but was paroled in 2004 after serving 24 years. He disappeared shortly after his release from prison. For more information about Komahcheet, please see the Top 10 Most Wanted website at;view=Details/fugitive=4

Mark Steven Bauman, 50, of Austin is wanted for possession of child pornography, improper photography or visual recording, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and probation violation, as well as federal warrants for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and failure to register as a sex offender. Bauman was last seen in the Austin area in the summer of 2010. He speaks Spanish fluently, and in the past has used Spanish-language matchmaking web sites to meet women. He may currently reside in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras or Colombia; however, anyone with a tip that leads to his arrest, inside or outside of the U.S., will receive the reward money. For more information about Bauman, please see the 10 Most Wanted website at;view=Individual%20Details/fugitive=8

One offender from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list and one from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list are featured each month in hopes the higher reward money from the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division will generate additional tips. The higher reward amount will only be paid if the tip comes in the same month the fugitives are featured.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the 10 Most Wanted Fugitives or Sex Offenders. Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:

· Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

· Text the letters DPS--followed by your tip--to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

· Submit a tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture to submit a web tip.

All calls, texts or e-mails are anonymous, and tipsters will be given a tip number. You do not have to give your name.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives yourself; they are considered armed and dangerous.
