The Wilson County MOMS Club will host a “Safety Day” at the Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Children of all ages are invited to attend. Activities will include a “meet and greet” with McGruff the Crime Dog®, a coloring activity, safety videos, and child ID services.

McGruff® Safe Kids Total Identification System will be offering parents the opportunity to have their child participate in the ID program that immediately captures their photograph, ten fingerprints, and vital personal information. ID kit prices range from $10 to $21.

This service is being conducted as part of a major campaign to make complete child identification packets available to parents. It is designed to provide parents with comprehensive vital data on their child, which would be readily available in case that child should ever be missing. More than 1 million children in the United States are reported missing each year.

The McGruff Safe Kids Total Identification System, licensed by the National Crime Prevention Council, consists of a family-oriented child identification and educational program enlisting the popular McGruff the Crime Dog as its spokesperson. It is the leading, most comprehensive child safety/identification and educational program available in the United States. The San Antonio area franchise has been providing IDs and education since 2007.

For more information about the McGruff Safe Kids Total Identification System, visit http://northsa.mcgruff-tid.com, e-mail northsa@mcgruff-tid.com, or call 210-872-1737.

The MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support), is an international nonprofit organization which provides support for stay-at-home mothers by offering a wide variety of activities for the women and their children. Some of the activities planned every month include park playdates, Lunch Bunch, Mom’s Night Out, Kid’s Day Out, and more.

The MOMS Club of Wilson County holds its monthly meeting the first Monday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Oak Hills Community Church in Floresville. Children are always welcome to all MOMS Club activities.
