Local girls give ‘locks of love’
Two years ago, Lauren Treviño cut her long hair for Locks of Love, in order to support women who are suffering with breast cancer and in honor of her grandmother.
In June, Lauren cut her hair again. This time she did it to honor her friend, Daeja Gomez, who recently was diagnosed with alopecia. Several girls joined Lauren in her endeavor and got their hair cut at Hair I Am in Floresville.
Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 in the United States and Canada, who suffer from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
Lauren has raised more than $1,000 for Locks of Love.
