Peggy A. Moring Carmichael peacefully passed away into eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was born on May 25, 1934, to Zachary Taylor Moring and Irone Stewart in Geneva County, Ala.

On June 4, 1953, she married Calvin Franklin Carmichael.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Brooke Army Medical Center and Lifecare Hospitals for the services and care for our “Mother.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Frederick A. and Fannye M. Carmichael; her brother, Billy Ray Moring; and her grandson, C.J. Carmichael.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 58 years, retired Master Sgt. Calvin F. Carmichael; her daughter, Karen Patrice Tobola and husband Frank; her son, Steven Franklin Carmichael and wife Elizabeth; her daughter, Cheryl D. Stanton and husband Jack; her grandchildren, Chris Tobola and wife April, Chelsea Carmichael Ebbitt and husband Corey, and Nicholas Tobola; her great-grandchildren, Breven, Kaydence, and Rylen Tobola and Beretta Ebbitt; her sister-in-law, Genola Moring; her nephew, Lucky Moring and wife Linda and family; and her aunt-in-law, Myrtle McLean.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Aug. 5, in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio, Texas.

Interment followed in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the C.J. Carmichael Memorial Scholarship Fund through Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, TX 78218.
