Area school districts are accepting applications for students to participate in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. The program provides free and reduced-price meals for students who meet eligibility requirements.

Eligible families may include households receiving Food Stamps or TANF, those with foster children, or those who meet the income guidelines of the program, based on a Federal Income Chart.

Families may apply during the school year if their household size increases, income goes down, or they begin receiving benefits, such as food stamps.

Applications are available in each participating school district.

For more information, contact:

•Poth Independent School District (ISD), 830-484-3330.

•East Central ISD, 210-648-7861.

•Floresville ISD, Ammie Whaley, food service director, at 830-393-5357.
