FORT WORTH -- The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association will host two Ranching 101 seminars in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 25-26.

The first seminar will take place Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association headquarters located at 1301 W. Seventh St. in Fort Worth.

The second will take place Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cain Center located at 915 S. Palestine St. in Athens.

While the seminar is designed specifically for people starting off in the ranching business, anyone interested in the cattle business is invited to attend.

The seminar will educate participants on the tools and equipment needed to get started; how to properly manage resources such as pasture and water; basic herd health, nutrition, and animal care; managing business finances; and theft prevention.

Admission is free. Participants should register by Wednesday, Aug. 24, to Stacy Fox at sfox@tscra.org or by calling 1-800-242-7820.
