Help Wanted

The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. Incarnacion “Chon” M. Robles, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, in Leming at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 9 days. He was born Aug. 22, 1924, to Alfredo and Pilar Martinez in Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Antonia Robles; and brothers Emilio and Cheto Robles.

He is survived by his children, Sofie Sorola and George Robles, both of Leming, Antonio and Aurora Aguilar and Arthur Robles, all of San Antonio, and Rudy and Anna Robles of Floresville; sisters and brothers Christina Sorola and Robert Robles, both of Leming, Rosa Olivarez, Betty Dominguez, and Vada Robles, all of San Antonio, and Janie Arocha of Floresville; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Roy Reyna.

Interment followed in St. Luke’s Cemetery in Loire.

Pallbearers were Robort Sorola, Michael Sorola, Frankie Sorola, Josh Robles, Louie Aguilar, and Michael Aguilar.
