James “Jim” Harrison, 74, of La Vernia Texas, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, in San Antonio. He was born July 10, 1937, to Elvis and May (Wilkinson) Harrison in Chicago, Ill.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the La Vernia United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons Mark and Ian Sean Harrison.

Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jan Harrison of La Vernia; sons James Harrison and wife Stacey, Brady Harrison and wife Suzanna, and Jason Harrison, all of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; a brother, John Towers of Pipe Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 21, from 5-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in the La Vernia United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Harry Kahl and the Rev. Cyndi Weidner.

Interment followed in the Kicaster Cemetery in Wilson County.
