William Douglas Roser I, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in La Vernia, Texas. He was born May 27, 1939.

He wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth McClurg; his father, Richard Roser; his first wife, Sandra Fadley; his sister, Evelyn Pearson; and his half-brother, John Huntsman.

He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Lucilla Roser; his son, William D. Roser II and wife Wendie; his son, Raymond Jeffrey Roser and wife Valerie; his daughter, Christine Clark and husband Tommy; his brother, Fred Roser; his brother, Richard Roser; his mother-in-law, Rosa and husband Ron Rainville; his father-in-law, Enrique Robles; his seven brothers and sisters-in-law, including his favorite sister-in-law, Kory; and seven grandchildren.

The family received friends Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 5-8 p.m. in the Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Gale officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Rifle Association Foundation, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
