ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Frances Ximenez Mendoza, a longtime resident of Saspamco, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at 10:25 a.m., surrounded by her beloved family, in her residence in Saspamco, at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 23 days.

Frances was born May 23, 1925, in Floresville to Mariano and Maria Garcia Ximenez. She attended Sunnyside School and was a homemaker. Frances married Rudy R. Mendoza Sr. in 1946 in Wilson County.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Axel Mendoza and Ernesto Mendoza; her siblings, Pauline Ortiz, Mary Villanueva, and Mariano Ximenez; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Mendoza; and her sister-in-law, Elia Ximenez.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Rudy R. Mendoza Sr. of Saspamco; her children, Rudy Mendoza Jr. and wife Lucy of San Antonio, Edward Mendoza, Eugene Mendoza, and Adelaida Juarez and husband Jesse, all of Saspamco, Fred Mendoza and wife Roxanne of China Grove, Elsa Trujillo and husband Eddie of Saspamco, and Roger Mendoza and wife Sara of Floresville; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Steven Ximenez.

A visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf with Father O’Connor officiating.

Interment followed in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Saspamco.

Serving as pallbearers were Eugene Mendoza, Johnny Mendoza, Axel Mendoza, Rudy Mendoza, Billy Salais, and Erika Mendoza.
