Tyra, as I do agree with you that there are parents like that, I dont beleive we have the coaches to take us to the next level. I do not have kids playing but do attend every home game and some away games. I just dont see the coaches making the proper adjustments or play calling to put our team in contention. Almost like they are just going thru the motions. If our coaches are letting the parents influence who should and shouldnt play, then they shouldnt be coaching there. I wouldnt coach a team like that. I believe we do have good atheletes to compete in the district, but we dont have the right coaching to make them competetive. The teams we play run the same offenses week in and out and we have yet to adjust to them. I think its time for a change. I believe the coach has been there long enough to right the ship and time for some new blood to come in and see what they can do. Our offense is boring and uncreative and our defense cant adjust to the speed most teams in the district have. Just think its time for a change

4GT- your words are quite true about Floresville. FISD taxpayers pay plenty of taxes for the facilities that they have (I must say that the facilities are great but where are the rewards). People say we have the talent, but do we? The coach is a good coach and the staff is good too, but the problem I see; there are TOO many meddling parents. These coaches are constantly trying to please these "my child is better than your child" parents, those that sit at the practices watching from the fence and critize what the staff is doing. My thought is CLOSED practices. If the child's parent is there, that child does not get to play. We have the talent, just the talent is not always in the "right" kid. Poth and Stockdale went through adjusting phases when their current coaching staff came on board. Those meddling, my child is better than yours but does not have the talent that yours does parents, were the first to want the new coaches to get out of their town, but the school board, superintendent, and principals knew they had a great head coach/athletic director and staff and stood by what they hired them for. It took some adjusting for everyone, but look at them now-On top and still climbing in every sport. Look at the districts that do well, everyone is on the same playing field at their schools, not just "those" parents. There are plenty of them and the funny thing is it starts so young nowadays. Compare these pop warner teams to each other you'll see the difference already there and then look at the school team. Yes the wildcats in Floresville do great at pop warner then when they get into school play these students already have it in their heads they ARE the team (and unfortunately) so do the parents. Once that stops and everyone is equal no matter what then maybe FISD will have the teams to go with the facilities.

Berry Center at Cypress is a really nice stadium...been there several times for band marching contests.

I don't envy Poth having to play Refugio. I think they average about 50 to 60 points a game and been ranked #1 all year. Hate to say, but they will be realy hard to put away.

Ha HA 4th generation Texan. Now that should show you how bad Floresville football is now. There are 6 teams in the district including FHS and 3 out of the 6 I beileve make the playoffs every year. So that tells you how bad they are, they havent seen a playoff game in 5-6 years, even when they were in a weaker district 2-3 years ago.

Airborn Trooper, you think FHS is bad now...when I attended, FHS considered a 5 - 5 season a success. I don't think we ever made the playoffs...of course, back then only the district champion went to the playoffs.

I drove through Milano just last week...boy, don't blink or you'll miss downtown and the suburbs. It's hard to believe a place that small even has a football team. There were more chickens, dogs, and cats hanging around than people. But, I think they might be in the same district with schools from Rogers, Granger, Bartlett, Thrall, and Thorndale...all of whom have won state championships in the last 10 or 15 years...so they might be pretty good..I'd sure watch out for them.

How is it that our neighbors in Poth, Falls City, La Vernia and even Stockdale can always do well, however the bigger Floresville does soo poor. Yes I realize we are in a bigger tougher district, but when you have had 4 losing years straight, time to find out where the real change is needed. I hear alot of talk during the games from fans who are disappointed and ready for a change. We want a winner in this town and our boys are just as talented as any team in Texas

Tigers lose another district game. 1 District win in 4 years. Its time for a change Mr Superintendent. We need to get back on a winning track and make Floresville football worth going to watch. The offense is very predicable, run left, run right. The defense doesnt make the adjustments at halftime. The teams in our district are not better then our players, just better prepared and coached
