1937-2011

Zygmunt Wiera of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, in San Antonio at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 25 days. He was born May 2, 1937, in Jankowice, Poland, to Franciszek and Waleria Wiera.

Zygmunt was a resident of San Antonio for 10 years and a former resident of Poland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one son, and one niece.

Zygmunt is survived by his wife, Lydia Piorko Wiera of Poland; his sons, Leszek Wiera of Poland and Rafl Wiera of Poland; his brothers, the Rev. Stefan Wiera of Pleasanton, Frank Wiera of Houston, and Bruno Wiera of Poland; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. in St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Loire, with a rosary at 4 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held immediately after the rosary with the Rev. Stefan Wiera officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pleasanton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Divin, J.D. Kvapil, Jay Santos, Frank Wiera, Henry Trevino, and Mike Wasniewski. Honorary pallbearers will be Monica Tworek, Stella Villa, and Stephanie Wasniewski.
