1917-2011

Margaret M. Griffin, 94, of Keller, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on April 19, 1917.

She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Elisa (Hutter) Sobanski; her husband, Culver C. Griffin Jr.; and a son, Heinz Claude Griffin.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Long of Keller and Trudy Sweeden of Ottawa, Ill.; two sons, Gene Griffin of Jacksonville, Ark., and Byron Griffin of Charlotte, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and close friends.

Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 27, from 1-2 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Griffin Cemetery, located south of Smiley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
