Jesse Esquivel Garcia Jr. of Poth, Texas, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in Poth at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 3 days.

He was born Jan. 23, 1946, in Floresville to Jesus and Genobeba Garcia. Jesse was a lifelong resident of Poth.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers, Adolfo E. Garcia and Ramon E. Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Garcia of Poth; his mother, Genobeba Garcia of Poth; his children, Jessica Garcia of Corpus Christi, Isabel Salinas and husband Bobby of Sandia, Rebecca Garcia and husband Chris of Victoria, Ernest Garcia and wife Lauren of Delaware, and Patrick Garcia and wife Jessica of Poth; a sister, Dora Esquivel-Rocha of Poth; a brother, Frank Esquivel and wife Hope Garcia of Poth; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 30, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, with Father Peter Lapinski officiating.

Interment will follow in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rudy Garcia, Christopher Rocha, Joseph Montez, Benito Garcia, Reuben Sanchez, and Joe Andrada.
