CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Doshia McKinney-Caddell, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, in her home near Nixon, Texas. She was born in Leesville on Jan. 19, 1933.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Mary Elizabeth (Warren) Brister; her first husband, John McKinney; her second husband, Edgar Caddell; two brothers, Alvin Brister and Warren Brister; and four sisters, Ellenor McKinney, Jessie Badgett, Sabrina West, and Bessie Stewart.

Doshia is survived by her children, Doris Jagers and husband Milton and Eddie McKinney and wife Peggy, all of Nixon; two sisters, Nora Lovalett of Seguin and Janie Steed of Nixon; four grandchildren, Miranda Jagers-Martinez, Bruce Jagers, Michelle Conner, and Kandy Roby; six great-grandchildren, Emma Martinez, Justina Conner, Laura Conner, Alex Roby, Reagen Roby, and Tyler Roby; two great-great-grandchildren, Jadin Conner and Noah Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and close friends.

Viewing and visitation were held Monday, Sept. 5, from 4-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

The funeral service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment following in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon.

The Rev. Michael Cowey and the Rev. Mitch Kolenovsky officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
