The Austin-San Antonio National Weather Service Forecast Office has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 9 p.m., for the following South Central Texas Counties:
Llano, Burnet, Williamson, Kerr, Gillespie, Kendall, Blanco, Hays, Travis, Bastrop, Lee, Texar, Comal, Guadalupe, Caldwell, Fayette, Wilson, Karnes, Gonzales, De Witt, and Lavaca.
Winds are forecast to be variable, with gusts of up to 50 MPH.
Humidity will range from 20-30 percent, possibly lower near thunderstorm outflows.
Thunderstorms are expected to be isolated with scattered showers. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that might generate sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the potential to grow quickly into dangerous, wind-driven fires.
